Design Portfolio
As a young man, I labored as a construction worker continually building my skill level to a point past proficiency. However, there were things that I didn’t enjoy about the profession such as customary lay-offs, wear & tear on the body, a lack of benefits, varying commute times and weeks spent out of town and away from my children. When the time came, I had no drive to become a general contractor and continue on in the field. After many years, and my last lay-off, I was afforded the opportunity to attend a local college and didn’t hesitate to do so.
On my going back to school as an older student there were times, quite honestly, when I felt a bit awkward. Moments in which I doubted if I’d continue. The turning point of my experience was that same Fall after enrolling in a Digital Imaging course. Once I discovered what was possible through the software, I was hooked. Since then I’ve created public announcement videos, interactive Flash sites and presentations, websites, logos, brochures and more (while learning a lot about design fundamentals), all of which I have truly enjoyed creating.
I've been drawn to art related activities for as long as I can remember. While in school, I always chose art as an elective but while I was no Picasso, I surely dabbled. Throughout life I've continued to enjoy digital art, animation and computer design so it feels appropriate that I should want to excel in the field. Since 2013, I’ve learned my way around Adobe's Creative Cloud utilizing programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Premiere, and Flash (Animate). I'm still eager to continue the journey.
